I also really, really like not having to plug in a laptop to practice (even if it’s only 2 decks), just because it’s less work, and also because I remember the music better… but totally can plug in the laptop when I need to.Īlso, the muscle memory when stepping in front of an NXS setup is great. Very happy with the decision, I play with more decks when they’re avail (and have a CDJ3000 backordered to add)… but mostly only see 2 deck setups when I play out, and using the Roll trick gets me 60% of the way there most of the time. I had a DDJ1k, and flipped it for the XZ. That would cannibalize their own product line’s sales, obviously. While it’d be great if the XZ had more players built in… it doesn’t. Is there a way to connect the DDJ 1000 to an external display somehow like an iPad or something? I do want 4 channels, but I don't really want to have to lug a laptop and stuff around. Is this for real? What the hell is the point then? Why wouldn't I just get a DDJ 1000 then for half the price if I need to plug it into a computer anyway? Am I missing something? I thought those all in one decks with the 4 channels just use two buttons to switch between decks 1/3 and 2/4? That's what my DDJ SX had years ago.Īre the extra two channels to connect XDJs/CDJs to and then you can use them in standalone mode?Ĭonnect equipment like CDJs to the 3rd and 4th channels and sync the audio to your mix. When using the XDJ-XZ with your laptop more features become available that aren’t accessible in standalone mode (for example sampler pad mode, key sync, control over decks 3 and 4). 2 additional decks are available once you connect your XDJ-XZ to a laptop and Rekordbox / Serato DJ software. Keep in mind that while using the XDJ-XZ in standalone mode you can utilize only 2 decks at once. I saw the all-in-one XDJ XZ and it looks like it will do the trick but then I read that you only have access to 2 channels in standalone mode?!? And you can't use the sampler pads, key sync, or other things unless connected to a computer and use the rekordbox software? So I am looking into getting a controller to downsize from my full size CDJ/DJM setup and to be more portable.
